Prudence Makhura

Prudence joined the National Research Foundation (NRF) as a Director for Overseas Cooperation within the International Relations and Cooperation (IRC) Directorate in May 2013. In this capacity she is responsible for advancing and managing all the NRF bilateral and multilateral partnerships through funding, human capacity development (HCD) and the provision of necessary research facilities between South Africa, Europe, Asia, Americas and the Gulf region. In this position she also serves as South Africa’s National Contact Point (NCP) for Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) under H2020, the EU’s Legal Entity Appointed Representative (LEAR) for the NRF, manager and coordinater of different WorkPackages within some of the H2020 programmes (i.e. ESASTAP 2020, ERAfrica II, etc.), and has recently been appointed as the South African representative on the BRICS S&T Funding Working Group.
